Dandenong Pavillion, has a secret burger menu…say what?! You heard me. After doing a little search on their online menu and seeing so many different burgers across other burger based blogs which I was sure wasn’t on their normal menu, I knew something was up. Something was not right and as a fellow foodie, I had to investigate this for myself and other fellow like minded foodists. The secret is, unless you explicitly ask for the secret burger menu, they won’t give it to you. What if you imply instead? Sorry mate, but the waitress will just stand there smiling playfully at you to until you actually ask for it. Le boy and I found it pretty funny actually.
The Secret Burger Menu.
The good thing about the secret burger menu is that there are enough options there to make it worthwhile for them to keep it a secret. The other good thing about it is that they are all priced the same, so just take your pick.
Premium Aussie beef patty, minced fresh daily, melted double cheddar cheese, bacon, beetroot, black Russian tomatoes and a pickle, shallot and horseradish sauce in a brioche bun.
The soft sweet brioche bun encasing the sweet juicy burger patty, cheddar cheesiness and sweet tones of the beetroot with the sauce was just a conglomeration of deliciousness waiting to be consumed. And consumed wholly I did. For the first time in a long time I was able to finish a burger despite not being hungry and borderline full, simply because it was that good. It was filling, extremely satisfying and for someone who staves off from consuming a lot of meat in general, I was surprised at how well I was able to physically cope with eating the burger. Very easy to digest and not too oily.
Premium Aussie beef patty, minced fresh daily, topped with juicy braised lamb, melted swiss cheese & truffle mayonnaise in a soft white bun
This burger played more on the umami flavours of the lamb mixed with truffle goodness. Le boy thought it was really good, though personally I would prefer some lettuce or some sort of vegetable in there. The Jiro is like a luxe lamb cheeseburger with truffle flavour hints.
Throughout the night, all I can say apart from the amazingly delicious burgers were that staff were polite and real friendly. They constantly made sure to check on us during the meal to ensure that we were happy and satisfied with our meals.
Dandenong Pavilion provides a wide menu selection to suits your general pub like needs. Their dessert selection is also something to look forward to, but unfortunately Le boy and I were too full to even consider the decadent Nutella waffle stack that the couple next to us had ordered to share. I looked on with envy while clutching at my sides to remind myself not to over indulge too much. And I thought to myself, there will be a next time. I’ll make sure of it.
