I have always wanted to check out South Melbourne’s Etto Street Pasta. At Etto Italian Street Pasta, you are given the chance to completely customize your own pasta dish. When I discovered that the Etto Street Pasta was setting up shop on Glenferrie Rd, a mere 5 minutes walk from work, there was no contest as to what I would have for lunch that day. The new addition to the Glenferrie food scene is located just opposite the Tram Terminus in Malvern. Facing east, the pasta bar manages to escape the warm afternoon sun so that diners can enjoy a meal a long the side street shaded by greenery.
The pasta shop provides its customers with opening space dining with spacious room and long large sharing tables. With it’s large windows, the place is illuminated by natural light which provides a nice relaxing atmosphere to eat in.
At Etto Street Pasta, you can choose to eat in or order to take away. The counter displays a range of fresh pasta for you to choose from.
Spinach linguine in roma tomato napoli (Bambini/kids size) $8.00
Plain linguine in slow cooked bolognese sauce (regular size)$13.00
Prawn spacial ravioli with parmesan in roasted vegetable caponata (regular size) $16.00
My colleagues and I all agree that the pasta was cooked to perfection. The pasta was thick and had a good bite to it, the sauces not too overpowering or too rich. Serving portions were more than generous.
Ciabatta garlic bread $7.00
A pasta meal is not complete without some garlic bread to soak up all the leftover sauces from your meal. The ciabatta bread with home made garlic butter was light, crisp but very rich in flavour. A little steep for such a small loaf, but the flavours were just on point.
Etto Street Pasta is a lovely new addition to the busy Glenferrie Rd shopping strip. Serving tasty pasta as reasonable prices the pasta bar is a great place to drop by during lunch at work for some pasta pick me up or after work for an easy dinner. You can never go wrong with pasta at any time of the day…ever.
