A good place with good vibes. Changz Canteen channels their outer love for Star Wars with simple little references all over the place. From your Hans Solo stuck on the side of the fridge, to the Death Star lodged in wall above the counter and your very obviously stencil print of Darth Vader and fellow storm trooper dressed in a suit. We came here for a dinner break after working on our group assignment for what seemed like forever.
Dial a Gino’s is just next door if you feel like pizza instead, but tonight we wanted some burgers. The place wasn’t too busy, considering that it was a Saturday night.
French fries $5.00
Veg Burger $10.00
Black quinoa, roast pumpkin and chickpea patty, lettuce, tomato, coriander, onion and sweet chilli co-yo
I love the idea of a battered black quinoa, pumpkin and chick pea patty and so did my taste buds. I believe this burger was vegan as the “mayo” was made coconut milk/yoghurt. The burger started to fall a part as I was eating it, but that didn’t bother me too much as it just tasted really good.
Chicken Karaage burger (specials)
The burgers here were a lot better than I had expected them to be and my friends enjoyed what they had ordered as well. The chicken karaage burger was highly recommended, and it did not disappoint my fellow culinary friend.
Changz Canteen could be best described as a adult canteen place that does burgers, beer food and not much else. Great place for Star Wars lovers, a casual night with mates or a low key date, but not for those wanting something fancy to impress.
